There are a lot of fitness recommendations available. The only trouble is that people don’t seem to follow them—consistently. The best fitness software may claim that it can give you the body that you desire in a certain number of days or weeks. You start the routine for a couple of days. Afterwards, you feel tired so you’ll stop it abruptly or do shortcuts just to appease your guilty feeling. Now, where did determination go? 

Such a scenario is very, very common. This is why a lot of best fitness blogs offer tips on how you can do your work consistently. To give you a sample, a trainer once told me an anecdote. He says that the best fitness gym he works in provided them a good training, not on fitness, but on motivating people. Apparently, most fitness students only show up for their classes for a couple of weeks. They soon dwindle down as the program progresses.

The best health and fitness tips on motivation seem to circle on one thing: stop whining. Don’t nag on how hard it is for you to hit the gym. Instead, learn to appreciate it. You would be willing to go to the gym even if it is hard for you because you want to attain your goal. Adding some inspiration would also help. You may look for eye candies such as the cute guy who is always on the treadmill. 

 1. Look forward.

Imagine what you would look and feel like after the hard work. Would you be able to get that dream dress? Or, do you think you would be more confident after the routine? No matter how petty it is, just learn to have something to look forward to. 

 1. Go for natural.

While it is popular to use chemical medicines to achieve a certain body, this is not very advisable. Any best health and fitness expert would tell you to go all natural. As such, you should consider taking natural products such as those that have antioxidant components in them. These natural options give you the body and health state that you long for.

 1. Love yourself.

If you love yourself, you would take considerable time in ensuring that you are always safe and healthy. Eat the right kind of foods. Exercise as much as you can. Supplement your health with natural products.

A study found that skipping breakfast has no negative effect on teens ‘ attention spans in high school ; however, students reported feeling more alert after eating breakfast . In an article in the August 2008 issue of Pediatrics , researchers tested teens’ ability to remain alert in class when fasting and after eating breakfast. During the study , half of the 104 students (aged 13-20) consumed breakfast, while the other half-the control group-did not; midway through the study the teens who were the original controls were given breakfast , while the other half were not. The teens were tested and measured for cognitive functioning, attention sustanibility and alertness. Although consuming breakfast did not have any effect on the teens’ ability to sustain attention, it did make them feel better: their moods improved after eating their morning meal , and they scored better on memory tests then they did after fasting. “With an increasing number of children and adolescents skipping breakfast, there is a need for scientific studies evaluating whether omission of breakfast affects the cognitive functioning and mood of fasting students,” the researchers concluded. In my opinion you should practice making your kids eat breakfast this will start them out with good behaviors and habits early on to prevent weight gain in the years to come. Remember it is easier to change in your youthful years because as you get older your metabolism slows down. Why lack of sleep makes kids fat and you should be aware Researchers know that people who sleep for only a few hours each night are more likely to be obese. But now a new study has shown that those who are sleep deprived during childhood are at significantly higher risk for becoming obese as adults. Study participants included a cohort of 1,037 boys and girls born between April 1972 and March 1973. Parental reports of bedtimes and rising times at ages 5 , 7, 9 and 11 were used to estimate childhood sleep times. The researchers later compared participant’s sleep times to their body mass index (BMI) scores at age 32. Shorter childhood sleep times were significantly associated with higher adult BMI values, even after adjusting for other potential factors, such as socioeconomic status, parental weight or physical activity /television viewing. Writing in the November 2008 issue of Pediatrics, the researchers concluded that “these findings suggest that sleep restriction in childhood increases the long-term risk for obesity. Ensuring that children get adequate sleep may be useful startegy for stemming the current obesity epidemic.” This is a very serious matter and very close to my heart for those of you who know me or may not know me. Feeling good, in essence, entails maximising your PHYSICAL and MENTAL state. This article will solely focus on the physical perspective (maybe I’ll post an article about the mental factors if I receive a positive response to this one !). To make this exercise as pain free as possible I’ve broken down being healthy into 3 easy-to-use tips, which anyone can follow. My aim in doing this has been to eliminate factors which people tend to use as an excuse for not ‘following through’ with the suggested action. These factors can include financial, time and commitment restraints. The beauty of these tips is they are extremely easy to implement and most people already know that they are correct. Therefore, why do the majority of people ignore such common sense or even do the complete opposite? The answer is simple, they have been conditioned, by themselves or society, to act and perform in a certain way. This article is not intended to change your daily routine, which may be poor or excellent, but to simply input additional easy and quick activities to that routine to improve your physical health. Here goes (please note, these are tips which have worked for me, and whilst they follow ideas extracted from extensive reading, they are not all specifically backed by proven data – that’s the beauty of having an opinion folks!):- Tip 1 Drink between 2-4 litres of water daily. Replace all carbonated, cordial, tea, coffee etc with water (don’t like water? Drink it long enough you will!). I personally add a large slice of lemon to all water I consume – 1) because I adore the taste 2) lemon is alkaline, which is widely accepted to be healthier than acidic produce. Also, you should never feel a severe sense of thirst if you are intaking enough water, as this is a sign of the onset of dehydration. Therefore, drink or sip water at regular short intervals throughout your day, increasing the intake where water is disposed from the body via sweating or increased physical activity has occurred. A water source not available to you all the time? Easy – always prepare a large bottle of water at the start of your day and keep it close to you throughout the day. Tip 2 Don’t just have your ‘five a day’ fruit / vegetables – ensure it outweighs the rest of your daily intake. Therefore, if you really need that juicy 12oz steak, make sure you offset it with a large salad, or a portion of vegetables which dwarf the steak in size! I’m not going to be the guy to tell you not to have certain foods, we all have our pleasures, but if you learn how to offset the pleasure (or better still, make the healthy options the pleasure – but that’s delving into the mental perspective I promised not to!) with fruit / vegetables you will be on the right track. Tip 3 BENCHMARK. Do you know someone who is supremely healthy, either by appearance or the vitality they exhibit? If you do, this is someone you want to interrogate (in a nice way!). Find out how they exercise, what they eat and how they operate. They have proven their method, now apply it yourself. If you don’t personally know anyone who meets your specification of desired health, widen your search. Perhaps a celebrity or sportsperson has what you want. Research them, the web holds a lot of info as I guess you know, so I’m sure a person of your means can collect the ‘benchmark’ data you require. Final Thought: Actively acknowledge when you are feeling healthy. Many people do not notice the results they are achieving or believe it’s pure coincidence – coincidence and health rarely co-exist!
